College Board has published the SAT Weekend schedule through June 2027.

As of September 15, 2026, the September 12 SAT has already passed. The next scheduled weekend SAT is October 3, 2026, followed by November 7 and December 5.

SAT Weekend dates and deadlines: 2026–27

College Board says these dates apply to U.S. and international students taking the SAT Weekend.

College Board notes that deadlines expire at 11:59 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time and late registration can involve additional fees.

Students who need to borrow a device from College Board must request it earlier — at least 30 days before test day.

• retake in May or June;

May 1 and June 5, 2027 SAT

These dates can be useful for juniors finishing spring coursework.

Potential advantages:

• more Math content has been covered in school;
• you have a March baseline;
• summer can be used for a final fall push if needed.

Potential disadvantage:

• AP exams, finals, activities, and school deadlines can compete for study time.

A simple date-selection framework

If you are a junior with no SAT score yet

A strong default plan is:

1. diagnostic in fall/winter;
2. first official SAT by March or May;
3. retake in June or early fall if needed.

If you are a senior in fall 2026

Work backward from:

• early action/decision deadlines;
• regular-decision deadlines;
• scholarship deadlines;
• each college’s last accepted test date.

Do not rely on a generic “December is always accepted” statement.

If you already have a strong score

Ask whether another attempt has a strategic purpose.

A retake makes sense if:

• practice suggests clear upside;
• your score is below target ranges;
• a scholarship threshold is close;
• one weak section is fixable.

There is no universal rule, but a useful planning range is:

8–12 weeks

Good for meaningful skill repair and multiple practice cycles.

4–6 weeks

Enough for focused improvement if your baseline is already close to target.

1–3 weeks

Better treated as triage:

• fix the highest-yield rules;
• learn the test interface;
• practice pacing;
• avoid trying to relearn the entire curriculum.
