Each section has two modules, and the difficulty of the second depends on performance in the first. The adaptation happens between modules, not question by question. Time does not carry forward between modules.

Can I use a calculator on the whole Math section?

Yes. A calculator is allowed on both Math modules, and a graphing calculator is built into the testing app. You may also bring your own approved calculator.

How the test is structured

The standard digital SAT^® exam has 54 Reading and Writing questions and 44 Math questions. Testing takes 134 minutes, with a 10-minute break between sections. Each section has two modules; later difficulty depends on earlier performance. Time does not carry forward between modules.
