1-Month SAT Study Plan: What to Do in the Final 30 Days
Only one month until the SAT? Use this four-week plan to diagnose weaknesses, fix high-value skills, practice timed modules and prepare for test day.
One month is enough time to make useful progress.
It is not enough time to study every SAT topic equally. If you have more runway, our 8-week SAT study plan spreads this work out further.
Your strategy should be:
diagnose → prioritize → repair → test
Day 1: take a baseline
Use an official Bluebook practice test if you have not taken one recently.
Record:
- total score;
- section scores;
- every wrong answer;
- every guessed correct answer;
- every question that took too long.
If your baseline is already in the 1400s, our 1400 to 1500 plan targets that narrower gap.
Week 1: fix obvious leaks
Prioritize:
Math
- linear equations;
- systems;
- percentages;
- functions;
- quadratics.
Reading & Writing
- sentence boundaries;
- agreement/verbs;
- transitions;
- central ideas;
- evidence.
Do not start with obscure hard questions if easy points are still disappearing.
Week 2: medium/hard targeted practice
Now move into:
- nonlinear Math;
- geometry/trig;
- inference;
- cross-text connections;
- difficult words in context.
Use new questions.
Do not “practice” by remembering answers you already saw.
Week 3: timed modules
Practice under realistic timing.
Train:
- when to skip;
- when to use Desmos;
- how quickly to move on;
- how to return to marked questions.
Take another full test near the end of the week. See the rest of our SAT study plans for other timelines and pacing strategies.
Week 4: final repair
Use the last practice test to identify only the remaining patterns.
Do not restart your entire curriculum.
If you missed:
- 4 inference questions;
- 3 nonlinear equations;
- 2 careless unit questions;
those become your priority.
Final 3 days
Reduce volume.
Focus on:
- short mixed practice;
- old-error review;
- Bluebook comfort;
- sleep;
- test-day logistics.
Do not cram until 2 a.m. If you have even less time than this, see our one-week SAT study plan.
Sample weekly schedule
| Day | Work |
|---|---|
| Mon | weak Math skill |
| Tue | weak R&W skill |
| Wed | mixed set |
| Thu | second weak skill |
| Fri | error review |
| Sat | timed module/full test |
| Sun | review/rest |
How MastaPrep can help
With only a month left, wasting time is expensive.
MastaPrep can keep your weakest skills at the front of your practice, make questions harder as you improve and bring previous errors back for another check.
That helps turn a short timeline into a focused one.
Bottom line
In the final month:
do less random practice and more targeted repair.
One month can be enough if every week has a clear purpose.
